In the ongoing Asia Cup after the big match of Pakistan v India the next match was between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The match was very important for both the teams to move forward in the Asia cup after getting these two critical points from this match. In the recent Asia cup Bangladesh gave the tough time to Sri Lanka. The stadium was full of Bangladesh supporters which were also helping the home team to go hard at Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh’s excellent performance:
In this year’s Asia Cup all teams have struggled to produce a good batting performance and the same thing happened at the start of innings as Bangladesh lost early wickets but with the partnership of Sabir Rehman and Shakib ul Hasan they managed to score a respectable total of 140.
Sri Lanka struggled to bat properly:
Sri Lanka really struggled to bat properly even after a good partnership between Chandimal and Dilshan at the top of order. Bangladesh spinners kept the run rate under control which jumped to a very high rate in a couple of over. Sri Lanka took the aggressive steps and sent Thisara Pereraa up the batting order to up the score rate, who failed to do it as he was taken out from the equation with the brilliant Yorker of Mustafizur Rehman. After the dismissal of Thisara Prera Sri Lanka crumbled and fell very short of the total set by Bangladesh. It was a memorable victory for the Bangladesh side.
Pakistan Faced UAE to open their account in Asia cup:
After losing to India it was very important for Pakistan to move on from that game and play well in their next match against UAE. UAE played two games so far in the tournament and they lost both of them despite very good bowling performance as their batting was very poor.
The story of the match:
UAE once again started in a poor fashion losing quick three wickets up front from Muhammad Amir and other two seam bowlers of Pakistan. After that, a partnership came between the experienced player Shaiman Anwar and Muhammad Usman which along with the late fireworks of captain Amjad Javed helped UAE to reach a good total of 130.
Pakistan top order failed once again but Shoaib Malik and Umar Akmal hit out the 50’s to help Pakistan win the match quite handsomely.
This win of Pakistan makes the Pakistan v Bangladesh match on Wednesday very important as whoever wins it will have more chances to go through the finals of Asia cup.
